Join our Nursing Team as a Qualified or Apprentice Dental Nurse

Qualified Dental Nurse

We currently have a vacancy for a GDC registered dental nurse, recently qualified nurse awaiting registration, or a nurse nearing the end of their training to join our expanding team at our well established Private Dental Practice.

The role:

  • Full time position available: 7.30am – 6.30pm over 4 days
  • Position to include some additional Saturday work (maximum 1 in 4)
  • Salary – negotiable dependent upon qualifications/experience

As a dental nurse at Devonshire House, you will have the opportunity to work alongside Specialist Prosthodontists, Endodontists, Periodontists , Orthodontists and Hygienists. Full training and ongoing support will be provided by our team of highly skilled dental nurses.

Essential requirements:

  • GDC registered qualification or currently enrolled on a GDC approved dental nurse training course (NEBDN or Level 3 Diploma for Dental Nurses)
  • Fluent English written and spoken.
  • Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Windows, Office and Outlook

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience of /or knowledge of Implants
  • Knowledge of SOE (Exact) computer software package
  • Full driving licence/access to car. Transport is desirable as you may be required over two sites
  • GCSE English Grade C/ 4 or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths Grade C/ 4 or equivalent

Apprentice Dental Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for you to learn while you earn to become a Permanent Registered Dental Nurse to work at Devonshire House Dental Practice, Cambridge.

At Devonshire House we have over a 100 year history of providing the highest quality dental care with fantastic traditional customer service. Over these years we have continually invested in the best equipment, technology and training to build a great team that helps us maintain our position among the leading dental practices in the country.

Our nursing team has a wealth of experience to support you on your journey to become a fully qualified dental nurse in order to register with the General Dental Council. You will be enrolled on an accredited training programme to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing, which will fully compliment the internal/on the job training that will be provided for you. Following the successful completion of your training, there will be the opportunity to join the business as a permanent member of the team.

 The role will include:

This role is ideal for anyone looking to start their career in the dental industry. We do not require any previous experience, to be successful you will simply have the enthusiasm to learn, have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people.

We will also accept someone already enrolled on a Dental Nurse training course.

The role will be 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7.30am-6.30pm). Occasional Saturdays will be required (Applies to 18+). The days per week to be worked may include shift patterns and will be discussed with the candidate in advance. Hours per week: 40.00

  • Providing chair side assistance to all clinicians
  • Ensure the care and welfare of patients
  • Ensuring all records are completed and kept up to date
  • Preparing and maintaining the clinical environment
  • Sterilisation of instruments
  • Mixing materials
  • Complying with strict cross infection procedures
  • Ensure adequate stocks of materials are within the surgery
