Date: 21 Nov 2024
CPD: 1 hour
Short Lecture and Case Planning with Denny Wang in association with Devonshire House Dental Laboratory
6.30-7.30pm Devonshire House
Supported by Laboratory Manager Nicholas Clarke and Crown and Bridge Team Leader David Hsu
Zirconia crowns have gained immense popularity in dentistry in the past 10 years, attributed to their superior mechanical strength and improved aesthetics. They are often used as an alternative option to traditional metal or lithium disilicate crowns for its less invasive preparation requirements. However, it is equally confusing about the vast variety of zirconia products in the market.
Join Denny Wang for a short lecture and case planning session to demystify zirconia crowns from the prospectives of both clinicians and dental technicians
Denny is a restorative dentist double qualified with Memberships in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry, an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong and also works at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London as a Specialty Doctor in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

- Visiting lecturer for Eastman teaching smile design and dedicated prosthodontics topics.
- Lecturing locally and internationally for British Dental Association and Hong Kong Dental Association on topics such as composite bonding and toothwear management.
Aims:
This session will provide an overview of zirconia as indirect restorative material, its clinical application and case selection in relation to its mechanical and aesthetic properties.

To discuss the following topics:
- What is zirconia?
- “Y” zirconia: what are the 3Y, 4Y, 5Y (yttria-stabilised) zirconia?
